A sea captain was steering his ship through heavy fog when he spotted lights ahead. He radioed, “Change your course!”


The reply came: “Change your course.”


Frustrated, the captain shot back, “I’m a sea captain with 35 years of experience—change your course!”


The voice calmly responded, “I’m a seaman, fourth class. Change your course.”


The captain, now furious, barked, “I’m commanding a 50,000-ton freighter—change your course!”


The final reply came: “I’m a lighthouse. Change your course.”
